I was responsible for creating the key visuals and tutorial control icons for *THE QUIET MAN*, a cinematic action game that lets players experience a world without sound.
In this title, where audio elements have been stripped down to the bare minimum, we thoroughly focused on the “visual translation” of information to ensure players could intuitively understand the controls and immerse themselves in the story.
We developed a main visual that symbolizes the high-definition world where live-action and CG merge, along with pictograms that instantly trigger action without the need for language, thereby creating a universal gaming experience.
MARVEL STRIKE FORCE
Scopely’s globally popular hit game, *Marvel Strike Force*. As the official partner managing its Japanese Discord server, we created a special gift (smartphone wallpapers) for Japanese fans. Our mission was to maintain the universal brand image of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) while maximizing the identities of the Japanese characters “Silver Samurai” and “Lady Deathstrike” within a “Japanese” context. Rather than simply translating text or cropping images, we worked closely with the localization team from the initial conceptual stages. We carefully selected traditional Japanese motifs—such as Mount Fuji, Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave,” and gold folding screens—from stock images and creatively reimagined them. Furthermore, for the title logos and character names, we adopted Japanese-style fonts that evoke the feel of sumi-e ink paintings and traditional Japanese patterns (for example, stoic line art matching the texture of Silver Samurai’s armor, and textures matching Lady Deathstrike’s hair color). Through this meticulous adjustment of the “texture” and “feel,” we embodied a refined “Japanese aesthetic” that feels natural even from the perspective of native speakers of various nationalities. We achieved a creative solution that resonates intuitively with fans in the target cultural regions, even for a global IP.
WAR ROBOTS
Localization of Pixonic’s robot action game *War Robots*—which has surpassed 150 million downloads worldwide—for the Japanese and South Korean markets.
Beyond simply translating from English to Japanese and Korean, we redesigned visual assets such as promotional videos, app icons for app stores, and screenshots to align with the culture and preferences of each market.
Based on user insights from each market, we optimized the prioritization of information and visual tone to help maximize the game’s presence in each region without diminishing the appeal of this global IP.
Symphonic Rain
To coincide with the release of the HD remaster of Kogado Studio’s landmark title *Symphonic Rain*, we created a multilingual official website. Our goal went beyond simply translating information; we aimed to recreate the serene atmosphere of a city where the rain never stops and the captivating allure of the game’s iconic music on digital devices.
Across a wide range of languages—including English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese, and Korean—we meticulously designed the typography for each language to ensure it did not detract from the overall design. Through advanced localization, we created a website that allows fans around the world to deeply immerse themselves in the game’s world.
CROSS HORIZON
We produced a promotional trailer for the action RPG *CROSS HORIZON*, developed by Marvelous Inc.
We brought to life the game’s rich, dark fantasy world—where swords and magic intertwine—and its exhilarating battle action driven by intuitive controls by blending in-game footage with dynamic visual effects.
We provided consistent direction for both the Japanese and English versions, directly translating and delivering the game’s dramatic experience to players around the world.
Promotion Trailer for “にゃんこ大暴走”
We produced promotional videos for spin-off titles and other content related to “Nyanko Dai Sensō,” a game developed by DeNA Co., Ltd.
While highlighting the charm of the characters with their unique world-building, we visualized the game’s exhilarating sensations—such as “running,” “colliding,” and “moving forward”—through dynamic typography and rhythmically engaging editing.
We created energetic visual content designed to capture the target audience’s interest within a short runtime and drive them to install the app and start playing.
